Battery Management System

Never charge batteries again, only refuel in the future!

With the optional JetCat Battery Management System (BMS), the generator and turbine battery can be used to charge/buffer up to two receiver batteries. The BMS system then also takes over the balancing of the turbine battery. The JetCat BMS system is normally connected directly to the turbine battery via its balancing connector. The BMS system is simply placed "piggy-back" on the turbine battery and connected directly to the turbine battery's balancer cable.

In this configuration, the model normally does not have to be recharged from the outside after the flight. The connected receiver batteries are charged fully automatically, even after the receiver power supply has been switched off, until they are completely full. Only then does the JetCat BMS system switch off the charging process by individually disconnecting the respective charging output. The charging current to the receiver batteries, as well as the condition of the Engine battery itself, is constantly measured and monitored and the status/current can be displayed via the HSE.

The system always ensures that the receiver batteries are fully charged for the next flight if possible. Since the receiver batteries are buffered/charged with up to 2A each as soon as the Engien is running, they have hardly been discharged after switching off the turbine anyway.
Should the batteries nevertheless be empty, only the turbine battery has to be charged from the outside. The receiver batteries are then charged via the BMS system quasi by the way/parallel.

As receiver battery all types are suitable, which have an integrated charging electronics (e.g. batteries of the company "Powerbox-Systems").
